GRE Quantitative Reasoning — How to Record and Change Your Answers

The method by which you record and change your answers to GRE Quantitative Reasoning questions depends on the particular question format, as explained below. (The links take you to test directions and practice questions.)

  • Multiple choice—select one answer choice. Select any of five choices by clicking on it. Deselect that choice by clicking on (selecting) another choice.

  • Multiple choice—select one or more answer choices. Select (click on) all choices that apply. Deselect a choice by clicking on it again. The testing system will not prevent you from selecting more than all correct choices. (You earn credit for a correct answer only by selecting all correct choices and no others.)

  • Numeric Entry. To answer a question in this format, you enter a number in a box instead of selecting among answer choices. Click on the box, and then type in a number. Backspace to erase.

  • Quantitative Comparison. Select any of four choices by clicking on it. Deselect that choice by clicking on (selecting) another choice.
