GRE Text Completion Practice Questions (Verbal Reasoning)

Here you'll find a series of eight GRE Text Completion practice questions. Earlier questions are simpler and generally easier than later questions.

NOTE: On the actual GRE exam, each Verbal Reasoning section will include several Text Completion questions — mixed with Sentence Equivalence questions and Reading Comprehension sets.

Instructions for Practice Questions:
  1. Review the test directions (below).

  2. Go to any of the numbered practice questions. Select a choice for each blank in the text.

  3. Scroll down the page for the correct answer and an analysis of the question. Click on "Directions" to return to this page.

  4. This is not a timed test. But if you want to simulate timed testing conditions, limit yourself to 1 minute per question, on average.
