About Part 3 of GMAT Answers
PART 3 of GMAT—Answers to the Real Essay Questions includes sample essay responses to 115 of the Argument questions in the testing service's official pool. As you study these responses, keep in mind:- The essays in Part 3 are not actual responses by GMAT test takers; they are responses that I and my contributing authors wrote. And they are not, of course, "the" answers, since there is no set "correct" response to any GMAT Argument question.
- These essays were written under timed conditions. However, I did go back and fine-tune them to make them better models for you to study. So don't be concerned if your essays aren't as polished as the ones in Part 3. Be realistic about what you can produce in 30 minutes.
- These essays are intended to provide you with substantive, organizational, and stylistic ideas for composing your Analysis-of-Issue essay; but they are not for copying word-for-word. Be forewarned: GMAT graders will have access to this book and will be on the lookout for plagiarism.
- The official Argument question to which each essay responds is referenced by number and by a brief identifying phrase (above the response). I've included these phrases to help you match each response to its corresponding question. These phrases are not substitutes for or summaries of the official questions. Be sure to obtain and read the actual questions as well!
