ur general meetings provide an opportunity
for users to ask questions, meet people with similar interests and
see presentations by PC vendors and experts. All meetings are FREE
and open to the public General meetings are always held the 4th Tuesday
of every month (except December) at 7:30 PM. Our usual meeting place
is the Goleta Public Library.
ExCom Meetings (Executive Committee) are always held the 2nd Tuesday
of every month at 7:30 PM at Gerry Chings' residence, 462 S. San Marcos
Rd. Any member is invited to attend.
We usually have software for review at each
meeting. SBPCUG members are requested to place a small deposit to get
the software package to review. When the review is submitted, the deposit
is returned and the reviewer can keep the software. Vendors give us this
software to expose their products to groups such as ours, and in return
they request a review of their product printed in our newsletter.
Here is an article by Esther
Schindler to help you organize and write a review.
Jim Friestad
of the Santa Barbara Genealogical Society will be speaking and
demonstrating "Family Tree Maker" software. He'll also
show us how to find and use information on the web from many
sources, to fill in all the leaves on our own family trees.
