How to make a great margarita
Ingredients:
- Good Tequila
- Orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec or Cointreau
- Lime juice, preferably fresh-squeezed. Don't use Rose's sweetened.
- Crushed ice
In a blender, mix two parts Tequila, one part Triple Sec, and one part lime juice.
Add an equal amount of crushed ice and blend until slushy. For a sweeter drink,
use 2 parts Tequila, 2 parts Triple Sec, and one part lime juice.
Pre-chilling the Tequila and Triple Sec in the freezer is optional and recommended
in hot weather.
Serve in a margarita glass with a salted rim, garnish with a slice of lime.
To salt the rim, pour kosher salt onto a plate in a circle about the size of the
rim of the glass about 1/4 inch thick. Moisten the rim of the glass with a lime,
and place the edge of the glass into the salt. Let the glass stand to dry for
about a minute, then carefully pour the blended drink into the center of the
glass.
