Leaf of Life

Stunned are we

A leaf has fallen off our tree

She blossomed and bloomed

Even in the shade of doom

Carrying a burden of her life

In a pack on her back

She danced in color lifting the spirits

Of all who were near.

Joyce, we watched you drift away

To a place where the sun shines

All day

Stunned are we that your leaf

Is gone from our tree

May God be with thee.
