Santa Barbara City College

Fall 2001

These poems were inspired from a Native American literature class I took this semester. During the pre-Columbian period, some songs and poetry in the Native American culture were considered to be anonymous because they felt that they were not the creators of them, rather that they received them through the "Great Spirits." For this reason I choose to remain anonymous.

Life

Seek

the beauty

of the earth.

Find

the treasures

of your heart

The Message

The wind spoke to me.

I wanted to keep his words

But, they were soon gone.

Today

Technology,

Don't separate me

from Mother Earth.
