Objectives:
1.
We will investigate learning theories and practices so that ~
a. instructors may review some approaches and choose what, if anything, to apply in their courses,
b. instructors may decide which ideas or methods they would like to know more about so they can use them in their courses in the future,
c. instructors have an opportunity to reflect on their own theories of learning.
2. Instructors will engage in the following activities (time permitting):
a. practice "thinking aloud" while paraphrasing during close reading,
b. determine their learning styles and consider classroom teaching style,
c. discuss a question using Paul's 4 point model for critical thinking.
