A Cat at Heart

to fame
With a long fluffy
Mane
intricately striped face
and body
I get oohs and aahs
at every Party .....
How did it come to be?
This hidden cat inside of
me?
See me now or see me
later ...
Always curious to
climb a tree ...
Or being locked in
an elevator
Roaming in the jungles
of deep green grass
Jumping up on the edge
of the sink to tip
over a glass
Splash, Crash Bang!
It hits the floor.
I am startled and panic
jump down and head,
out the door ....
Across a rain puddle
shake out my wet
paws
backtracked to the puddle
for a sip ...
noticed a face
in the water and
hiss at it
not knowing it was me.
I arched my back
showed my claws
ready to pounce.
Then noticed
that the exotic eyes
and striped face
were mine;
How did it come to be?
