Present:  M. Lawson (Senate Liaison), G. Lewin (chair), D. Mackie (Acad Support and minutes keeper for this meeting), J. Millward (English), M. Muraoka (Health Tech), J. Pike (LSS), C Solberg (Social Sci.), J. Ullom (Administrative Liaison).

Excused: S. Broderick (Acad. Support), J. Simpson (Sci. and Tech), P. Zwehl-Burke (Fine Arts)

Absent: D. Kiley (Library)

I.  Gyrus Syllabus Maker and Research Tool:

Mark Ferrer (FRC) and Jerry Pike (LSS) provided an excellent overview and demonstration of this on-line resource for faculty and students. The URL is as follows:

Each person is encouraged to explore the sites as they are quite extensive.  At a future meeting and/or on an individual basis, this tool may be explored further. Email Jerry Pike regarding other applications and feedback.

II.  Voting Issue:

Mary Lawson informed the committee that it may decide on an annual basis how it would like to count votes, either one vote for one person or one per division. Since there was not a quorum at the time, this vote will take place at the next meeting.

III.  Professional Development Funds:

Jody Millward requested that transfer statistics information be provided according to student ethnicity, age and gender. Gerry Lewin will request this of Dr. Andreea Serban.
