We work in Quark Express, Adobe Photoshop and are soon to be uploading

February 1998 to December 1998: Public Relations and online marketing

releases, organize articles, seek marketing outlets and grants for our
online and independent study programs and affiliates.
September 1993 to February 1994: Relocated to California; freelance
public relations for Galpin Motors, 13303 Roscoe Boulevard, Sepulveda,
CA 91343. Wrote press releases for Galpin owners Bert and Jane Boeckman
for several honors and event. Also wrote copy for their auto dealership
as editorial content for an advertising page published early in December

and 1993 Newspaper of the Year for circulation under 12,000 by the New
England Newspaper Association.City reporter, including a focus on political,
economic, government. planning, police and fire issues.Covered the 1993

May 1987 to December 1988: Independent Granite State Publishing Company,
Ossipee, NH 03890, publisher of the Carroll County Independent and the
Granite State News. Reporter, photographer and darkroom assistant, as well

Prior to 1987: Freelanced for a magazine and worked for public radio
and a shopper while earning my degree. Prior to returning to school, I
worked in retail, was a florist and ultimately owned my own florist shop
in Rockland, Maine. Prior work history and references provided on request.
Education:
1987: University of Maine, BA in Journalism
1985: University of Maine, AS in General Studies. As part of this curriculum
I attended courses in black and white and color photography at Maine Photographic
Workshop, Rockport, Maine.
Skills:
I have the ability to organize my thoughts and write accurate stories
quickly under deadline pressure and the ability to develop lasting sources.
I have laid out as many as 12 pages per day in Quark Express, writing headlines
and captions for all the stories. We currently use digital cameras and
I download and manipulate the photos in Adobe Photoshop. I type 70 words
per minute. I have worked on a variety of computers, including Compugraphics,
Apple, IBM, Magnavox, Techwriter and PowerMac. Programs I am proficient
in include: Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Quark Express, Fetch and Adobe
Photoshop. I write HTML for Internet homepages and enjoy my personal computer,
crafts, sewing, gardening, bowling, reading, theater and music.
