The War Department says that dad died at Puffendorf, Germany. So far, I
don't have too much information about it except what has been told to me by
dad's oldest sister, who was a wonderful person and one of my dearest
aunts. My mother told me a little about him, too -- that he was a shall we
say, comic. Always pulling something. I have a few pictures of him at
a young age. I don't remember him at all but I do know that there is a
vast emptiness where he should be.
I am very proud to be his son. I have the book about the 2nd Armored division
(Hell On Wheels), and I must say that that was a rugged bunch.
