"The Lord God will do nothing, but he revealth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7). They in turn have penned his words that the servants of Deity may have understanding. Know this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" (1 Peter 1:20-21). It is declared in the opening verse of the Book of Revelation that "The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave unto Him to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass and he sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John."

It is obvious then that the living God does reveal His future plans with this earth to His servants (sons and daughters, Hebrews 12:5). Why?

"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; where unto you do well that ye take heed as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19). In other words, it is given to prepare a people for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end, we put pen to paper, "And they that be wise (wise in the Word of God) shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever" (Dan. 12:3).

We would at this stage direct your attention to a wise brother in Christ who now sleeps in the dust, who dedicated the better part of his life to seeking out the true God, who's works we unashamedly will refer to time and time again. His name is Dr. John Thomas, a Bible student of the mid-last century, who laid no claim to the Holy Spirit, but claimed that from the Word of God he had found the Truth in Christ Jesus and understood the prophetic Word. His works have stood the test of time and for over 120 years they have cried out to generations in order to prepare a people for the Lord.

"To the law and to the testimony, if they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isa. 8:20)

During the coming months we will look, God willing, at the manifestation of prophecy as it occurs in the political arena of this present world.

What an exciting time it has been for the true Bible students who understand God's prophetic Word; what a feast of Godly things, where the unenlightened only see chaos, war, famine, disease and a endeavour for peace, the children of God see the Truth of the matter. They understand these events herald the return of Christ in a general and specific manifestation. For example, what has the traumatic events in Kosovo to do with God and His purpose? In order to answer this question, many prophecies have to be taken into consideration. For example, Daniel 2:31-45 talks of an image of a man composed of various metals that represents various nations (or territories):

Head of Gold: represents Babylon

Chest and Arms of Silver: represents the old Medes and Persians territory (the modern Persians are Iranians)

Belly and Thighs of Brass: represents the territory that Alexander The Great conquered and controlled from Greece right through to the River Indus in Indian territory.

Legs of Iron and Feet part of Iron and part of Clay: represents the Old Roman empire territory. The feet part of clay and the ten toes in particular represent the ten territories that came into being when the Roman Empire broke up. It may be asked what has this got to do with the present time? The answer is -- everything. For the declaration of God in Daniel 2:44 shows that this image territory will be in existence in the latter days. For we read that the destruction of this image power will be broken and destroyed prior to the setting up of a kingdom by the living God that will never be destroyed, and shall stand forever. The stone that smites the image (Dan. 2:35) represents Christ and his brethren; the image is struck upon it's feet (Dan. 2:34). This necesitates the standing up of the Image. The image cannot stand until all its component parts are in place. The Head, the Arms, the Belly, the Thighs, the Legs and the Feet all have to be functioning and in harmony. As we shall see elsewhere, the image stands for a purpose, and that purpose is that it will march to destroy God's people and to occupy the land promised to Abraham. (Gen. 13:14-15).

The territories of the image are clearly defined if we look at the old territories that the image represented. For example, we know the territory Alexander the Great occupied, therefore, we know the territory that the Belly and the Thighs represent. Coming more particularly to the territory of Serbia and Kosovo, we understand therefore from the ancient territory of the Thighs (Alexander), and Legs (Rome) and the ten Toes (10 kingdoms), we understand the territory Kosovo corresponds to the part of the Left Leg of Daniel's Image. If that is so, why the persecution of the Muslims in Kosovo? The answer is both clear and precise -- the Left Leg is removing itself of its shackles in order to stand. In the words of the well known Bible student Dr. John Thomas.

"The time is now about come, when the Ottoman splint may be removed and the Latino Greek leg of the image, repaired by Russian callus, be permitted to stand." Exposition of Daniel, pg. 59. This was written in 1868.

In order to understand we must realize that the Turkish power once held sway over much of Eastern Europe, Spain, the Middle East, etc.. It was once a great power and it is represented in Biblical terminology as the power of the Great River Euphrates. The Bible talks of the drying up of this great power for the purpose of preparing the way for the King of the East notably Christ and His brethren who are to rule the earth (Rev. 5:10). Therefore, the great turmoil we are presently witnessing in Kosovo is a manifestation of a healing crisis within the Leg of the image that it may be first to stand. For soon the image of Daniel is about to stand in order that it may make it march into the land of Israel. The image body is being energized by the life force of liberty, equality, fraternity as a fulfillment of the three unclean spirits that will bring all the world to the battle of Armageddon (Rev. 6:12-14), more of this in a later issue.

Yet before the image marches to meet its end in Israel, Israel has to be prepared to be in a condition that is favourable to the invasion of the Image. The great sign we look for in Israel prior to this event is the sign of peace of security in Israel. Ezekiel chapter 38 talks of many countries that form the image as they invade that land (Israel) and we are clearly shown in verse 8-11 that Israel dwells safely and are at rest. Bible students have for years been waiting for Israel to be in this state. Ehud Barak, who is now the Prime Minister of Israel and the most decorated ex-soldier of that country, has vowed that peace and security is his intention. He has declared that within 15 months Israel will dwell at peace and its borders secure.

This is the greatest sign of our time, "For when they say peace and safety then sudden destruction cometh on them as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape" (1 Thess. 5:3). The word "say" (in verse 3 of 1 Thess. 5) in the Greek language is LEGO = a prime verb to lay forth in a systematic or set discourse, exactly as the peace talks are doing now. We are witnessing one of the greatest signs prior to Christ's return. In this century alone we have witnessed some of the greatest signs concerning Israel tht has ever taken place. For example, the opening up of the land of Palestine for Jewish immigration. The birth of the Jewish nation in 1948 after nearly 2,000 years, the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the resurrection of the house of Judah during this time after being scattered throughout the nations for nearly 2,000 years. The rebirth of Israel was a prophetic miracle that has come to pass. Before sudden destruction by Daniel's Image.

Look to the security and safety cry by Ehud Barak because it will come. It cannot be stopped. The Word of God is true. Yahweh willing, we will month-by-month examine the prophetic scene in more detail. We will look closely at Daniel's Image and such chapters as Ezekiel 38 and many other passages of Scripture that will show beyond a shadow of doubt that Christ's eminent return is near. It will be shown that there is a God, that He does exist and His purpose will be accomplished. Bible students know that: "We have also a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn and the day star ariseth in your hearts."
