This is by no means a full list of software available to you on the Internet. It is however things we use and have some amount of knowledge on. At the end you will find some advanced programs and other useful tools, these are here for your use although we have limited support on these programs.
Downloading Suggestions:
To best experience the World Wide Web, West.Net recommends either Netscape Navigator and Microsoft's Internet Explorer - Both are world class web browsing products.
To effectively download software from West.Net using any version of Netscape or Internet Explorer, hold down the shift-key before clicking on the blue link. You will then be prompted for where to save the file on your computer. After you have made a choice and clicked on OK the download will commence. You can continue to browse the world wide web while your download is in progress, although it will be at a slower rate, until the download is finished.
Essential Tools for Win3.x & Win95:
- WestNet Internet Tools v1.1 - Setup disk for Windows 3.x or Windows 95. This file contains Trumpet Winsock, NewsX, Eudora, CuteFTP, and scripts to download Netscape. If you download this disk you will not need these programs below, with the exception of PKzip.
- WinZIP - Utility for Data Compression. Makes uploading & download software faster. A vital utility for anyone using the Internet. Available for Win 3.x, Win95/98 & Windows NT.
