Friday, April 25, 1997 will go down in broadcasting infamy as the day that America's premier radio broadcaster, Westinghouse/CBS squatted to an all time low.
It was a day that also showed us that the FCC is, in a word, useless, and that Congress is slightly more valuable - at least they're funnier to watch!
Not content with giving our children encouragement to use illegal drugs and telling them that all women are whores, on April 25, 1997, Howard Stern and the Chairman of Westinghouse/CBS, Michael Jordan, brought paganism to 25,000,000 listeners.
Westinghouse, Jordan and Stern broadcast the Internet address of a web site that is dedicated to bestiality. Women engaged in all manner of sex with dogs, horses and farm animals make up the gif's and jpeg's of this "Howard Stern Site Of The Day".
Although I will not post this address, suffice it to say it is extremely graphic, obscene and, by anyone's standards (except those who engage in such things), it is pornographic.
There is no doubt that children are in Stern's audience and this is not an issue of First Amendment. It is an issue of broadcasting and, therefore promoting, the Internet access of pornographic material to children. Anyone that would argue otherwise needs serious professional help!
Any broadcaster operating on publicly owned airwaves, who would allow such material to be presented to children, is simply an unfit licensee and should have his broadcast licenses revoked. Anyone who would argue otherwise needs serious professional help!
What do you think would happen if some truck driver got on his CB radio and broadcast this same Internet address?
There is no difference. An FCC license, is an FCC license. Period!
The Governor
(April 14, 1997) - At 8:15 (EST) New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman called Howard Stern this morning to announce that she'll be running for re-election and asked for the 'Queen's' (see: above photo) blessing and support.
Four years ago, Ms. Whitman also asked Ms. Stern for her support. In exchange, Ms. Whitman promised to name a New Jersey highway rest stop after her. Proving that you can fool most of the people most of the time, Whitman was elected and Ms. Stern got the rest stop at a cost of more than $1,000.
This time, in exchange for her support, maybe Ms. Stern will ask for a ladies room!
Or, possibly a closet in the Governor's Mansion.
United States Senator, The Honorable Alphonse
D'Amato
Senator Al's friend
"Hey Senator Al, filibuster this!"
"He leads the fight against illegal drugs, successfully sponsoring legislation in 1988 to impose the death penalty on drug kingpins who kill, and in 1994 to impose the death penalty on drug kingpins for the sale of large amounts of illegal drugs. "
FACT: Senator D'Amato stood on the floor of Congress and made a speech supporting Howard Stern and his right to broadcast pro-drug messages and indecent material to 12 year old children.
FACT: Here's a United States Senator who defends Howard Stern's graphic discussions
of sodomizing his wife (complete with sound effects) being broadcast to our children.
FACT: By his actions, Senator D'Amato supports Stern's broadcasting of the Internet address of bestiality web sites to 12 year old children.
FACT: Senator Al D'Amato appears on Stern's program on a regular basis.
FACT: Senator Al D'Amato unashamedly asks Stern for his support in his Senatorial campaigns!
FACT: Howard Stern unashamedly asks Senator D'Amato for help with his FCC problems.
One would think that a United States Senator would be a bit more particular.
According to published reports, United States Senator, Al D'Amato received $58,000 in illegal contribution from reputed mob associate, Joseph Asaro.
Mr. Asaro is also the chief lobbyist for Sweet 'N Low producer Cumberland Packing Corp., .
In April 1995, Asaro pleaded guilty to 3 federal felony counts for making a total of $200,000 in illegal contributions and tampering with witnesses. Senator D'Amato has called Asaro "a friend", "mentor", and "benefactor." Asaro illegally reimbursed friends' contributions with fraudulent invoices by Cumberland. D'Amato was a key supporter of legislation which would prevent a ban on the carcinogenic saccharin (Sweet 'N Low's main ingredient). D'Amato sponsored legislation in 1987 proposing a 5-year moratorium, which in 1991 was extended through 1997.
Cumberland Packing Corp. is a national sponsor of The Howard Stern Show and refuses to drop their advertising.
