FCC Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth doesn't own a TV!
Harold Furchtgott-Roth, one of the new Clinton appointed members
of the Federal
Communications Commission, said he does not own a television set.
Furchtgott-Roth, 40, is one of four new commissioners to join the
five-member FCC, which, among other duties, regulates the broadcast television
industry
He said his office has a set, which he does watch. .
When asked if not owning a television could affect the way he carries out
his duties, Furchtgott-Roth said, "If there's something that requires
my watching a program, I'll watch the program," adding that some people
might consider it a plus that he does not own a TV.
The Clinton administration wants broadcasters -- in exchange for getting
valuable digital TV licenses free of charge -- to offer political candidates
free air time.
WESTCOTT'S COMMENTARY:
Maybe it's just me but, I think it's funny as hell that a FCC Commissioner
doesn't have a television. Let's put a guy into a position in a government
agency that regulates television and make sure that the only information
he receives is from the industry itself.
I think that Hillary and Bill sit up at night and wonder just how far they
can go before the American public figures it out!
I can just hear the conversation now........
Bill: "Hey Hillary, what can we do to have some fun with these dumb
ass Americans?"
Hillary: "Well Bill, we've got some FCC appointments coming up. Let's
appoint a hyphenated attorney who doesn't own a TV set."
Bill: (Holding back his laughter) "I like it, but let's also make sure
he doesn't have any broadcasting experience what-so-ever."
Bill and Hillary Clinton continue to prove that Barnum was right!
Hey America, was he right????????
