Autumn
Lingers
Autumn
lingers,
is of delicate ferns
that graciously spread
the green of life
amidst the gold
of impending sleep.
Autumn gives in a different mode;
for as the color of leaves fade away,
the tree offers the auburn
of berry-clusters
holding the seeds
of future lives.
